An amusing idea from amazing Thailand

I haven't post here for a while.. 'cause nothing worth mentioning until this one from Bangkokpost's PostBag.

Another daft idea

As the owner of a minimart in Pattaya, I was amused to be told recently that as of Aug 1, all minimarts must turn around bottles of whisky and beer in their shops, in a vain attempt at discouraging people from drinking.

If this is the best attempt by the Thai government to reduce the number of drinkers, I find it laughable. You will have customers being unable to distinguish brands, and staff will have to be constantly turning bottles around to show customers their selection.

This appears to be another well-thought-out policy that keeps Thailand as the world's laughing stock.

How on earth someone came up with such an idea and got it through?

I call this thinking "out of the box"! (May be there isn't any box!)

Or is this a 'half measure' thinking with half the brain?

But as a joke I rate this one 'original' with 5 stars!

Imagine you walk into a liquor store seeing only the back of bottles!

Will they do the same to cigarettes too?
